Since there is no distance requirement listed for trapping, is it safe to assume that walling off 1 tile on the opponent’s side of the fence would be “trapping” them in the remaining 17 tiles? Under my current interpretation this is illegal. If this is not trapping, please give a little more insight into where the line is drawn.
Covering stars/cubes would almost certainly prevent access to a small portion of the field, as the arm and/or the held objects will be in the way. Is this trapping? If the answer is different between these two situations, what makes the difference?
Sorry for the gritty details, but I believe there is still quite a lot of confusion around this rule.
A Robot deploying a wall across the Fence that completely cuts off a Robot from a section of the field is illegal. A Robot deploying a wall that traps a Robot into a section of the field that they cannot escape from is illegal.
Yes, this is legal as the opposing Robot is not being pinned or trapped as you describe it. There’s definitely an avenue of escape, at least in my understanding of what you have described.
