V5 Controller Won't Allow Timed Runs

I have a V5 controller that is stuck and will not allow timed runs or skills runs. I have reset the controller and its firmware is updated. It has a symbol we are unaware of it. Any suggestions?

DISCLAIMER: I am not Official Tech Support, but I am relatively experienced with V5 and pretty well-read on the Vex Forum.

That symbol in question is the field controller autonomous icon, so the controller thinks that a field controller or competition switch is telling it to run auton.

Will the controller do an autonomous timed run?

Controller permanently stuck on “play” mode

It seems like the controller is permanently stuck on this mode no matter what I do, autonomous in unable to be ran even when connected to a competition tower. IIRC, check the pins in the ports… make sure they are nor shorted due to a wrong cable being plugged in.
